A visit to the Forbidden City is high on the list of any visitor - international or domestic. The crowds build up quickly so getting in early was the plan. While waiting for the gates to open I spotted this mother about to take a photo of her son.
At first I just like the idea of an image of a young Chinese boy standing proudly at attention. In a pose that suggested he knew that he is one of the inheritors of the great culture that build this place.
And then I was somewhat amused to note that his uniform was covered in “US Army” tags. How things have changed in China in the last 20 years.
