Wedding Procession at Meiji Shrine

The Meiji Shrine is one of the most famous in Japan and is very popular for weddings. The proceedings are managed with the expected Japanese precision and formality.

Each wedding involves several formal steps, one of which has the wedding party moving in procession from one part of the shrine to another with the priests leading.

The uniformed personnel who manage the interplay between the formal activities of the shrine and the many casual visitors never fail to salute the passing wedding party in honour and celebration of the event.

Only in Japan.
