Evening Spotlight on the Mekong River

Just a few weeks after the rainy season the level of the Mekong has dropped several metres and the season shifting of the sand banks around Vientiane have settled. The river carves a deeper channel on the Thai side but the many shallow areas make for tricky boating. As the fierce sun of the day drops, it becomes popular to "walk on water", go fishing or just have fun.
